Our People

Chris Regan - Director & Keynote Speaker

Chris is a crisis and risk management specialist with over 17 years’ experience at a senior management level developing emergency plans, resilience and response capabilities for large complex organisations. He is well versed in working in highly political environments under intense scrutiny and pressure.

He leads programmes to build highly effective resilience capability across organisations, developing crisis management frameworks and policies, as well as training and exercising senior leaders and incident teams to manage and respond effectively to a wide range of incident scenarios.

Chris is a highly qualified and experienced civil contingencies incident commander and an industry expert in the response to flood emergencies.

Prior to founding Blue Rock Risk, Chris spent fifteen years as a Police Officer working at a senior level leading major policing operations and events. More recently, his work has focused on developing the national incident management capability of the Environment Agency and in particular the response to major flood events and business continuity issues.     

Chris is an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management and has been published in a range of leading industry magazines, to include the Business Continuity Institute, Continuity Central and the Disaster Recovery Journal. He regularly speaks at corporate events sharing his experience and expertise.

John Baker – Associate Senior Consultant

John is a management consultant with experience in both public and private sector organisations. He has a broad range of strategic, business and analytical skills, and has a track record of delivering successful projects for clients. John’s expertise is helping organisations understand and manage the ‘human factor’: the things that cause humans to make critical errors. His work covers safety culture, accident investigation and other risk control measures. John runs his own award-winning consulting practice (Silver Moor Business Consulting LLP)

As well as being a professional engineer (IEng and Member of the Institution of Engineering Technology), John has an MBA and is a Fellow of both the Institute of Consulting (FIC) and the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (FIOEE). John is a mentor for the Open University Business School's Alumni Mentoring Programme and co-manages the Human Factors Professionals group on LinkedIn which has a membership of almost 4,000 human factors professionals.

John is a member of the South West Board of the Chartered Management Institute (www.managers.org.uk), working with a team of management professionals to plan, organise and run a vibrant programme of events to help create better led and better managed organisations across the south west.
